Guest Information

Check-in Time

Check-in is from 3:00pm on your arrival date. We are unable to check-in any earlier than this time but can (subject to availability) keep any luggage you have until you check-in. Please ask at reception.

Check-out Time

Check-out is by 11:00am on your day of departure. We are unable to offer a late check-out service. Please ensure you take all your personal items from your room when departing.

Key Card Access

Your key card will open your room door as well as allowing access through the resident’s doors to access the hotel. The external resident’s door can be used 24 hours a day. Should you lose your key card during your stay, please inform reception immediately so it can be cancelled, and a new key card issued. Please return your key cards to reception or place them in the express check-out boxes on the morning of your departure day.

Bar Opening Times

Our bar is open from 11am every day and offers a selection of draught and bottled beers, spirits, real ales and freshly ground coffee. We currently close at 10pm on a Monday and Tuesday night, 1am on a Wednesday and Sunday night, 11pm on a Thursday and 2am on Friday & Saturday nights.

Please note that our closing times may change without notice so please check at reception for up to date closing times.

Free Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available for the duration of your stay. Simply search for 'George Hotel' on your device and join the network. You will be re-directed to a login page that requires a voucher code and acceptance of our Wi-Fi terms and conditions. Voucher codes are available from reception free of charge for hotel guests.

Room Information

All our rooms include a tea & coffee tray, bath and hand towels, Cole & Lewis hand wash and shampoo/body wash, hairdryer, fan & a 32" TV with Freeview and radio channels.

We also have a limited number of irons available and non slip shower mats can also be provided. Please contact reception should you require one.

Entertainment

The George Hotel has a varied entertainment schedule, please ask a member of staff for this week’s entertainment or check out our Facebook page.

Luggage Storage

Unfortunately we are unable to store any luggage prior to or after your stay. Please note that we do not take any responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of any luggage.

Carvery

The hotel has a Carvery served Thursday to Sunday (& Bank Holiday Mondays) in the newly refurbished restaurant which is open to hotel guests and members of the public! Simply purchase your ticket at the main bar.

Smoking

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted anywhere on the hotel premises. This includes out of your hotel room window. Anyone found doing so will be subject to a £100 fine and removed from the premises with no refund. Rooms are fitted with smoke detectors which are sensitive to cigarette smoke. Anyone found to be tampering with the fire detection device will be removed from the premises.

IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE

Raise the alarm by breaking the glass in the nearest fire alarm
activation point
Leave the building and go to the assembly point
Close your room door and any other door behind you if possible
Do NOT take any personal belongings
Foam Fire Extinguishers are located on each floor of the hotel.

Leave the building immediately and proceed to the assembly point

Assembly Point: Opposite our Baxtergate Entrance next to St John’s Church, Baxtergate.

Do not shout or run as this can cause unnecessary panic.

Please ensure reception is aware on booking of any disabilities of any guests that may require special assistance in the event of a fire/emergency.

Emergencies

We always have a member of staff on site. If you require assistance during our bar opening hours, please ask a member of bar staff or call us on 01947 602565. If you require emergency assistance during silent hours our night manager is located on the 2nd floor next to Room 9. Please press the doorbell to summon assistance. This should be used in an emergency only. If you require immediate assistance and have called emergency services, please ensure you also alert a member of staff so quick access can be organised.

Breakfast Information

Breakfast is served each morning in the restaurant on the ground floor. Please have your room number ready when greeted by a member of breakfast staff.

Breakfast includes a selection of hot breakfast items (bacon, sausage, hash brown, fried egg, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes), toast with a selection of jams, cereals, juice, fruit and a selection of teas & freshly ground coffee.

Saturday to Sunday 08.30 - 10.00

Gluten free and vegetarian breakfasts can be catered for with prior notice so please inform us on booking your room.
